This is not your typical honey – instead of nectar collected from flowering plants, bees make it from the sweet nectar produced from aphids feeding on pines. It is unique owing to its dark colour, distinctive aroma and delicious flavour. Its antibacterial properties are similar to those found in Manuka, since it is high in minerals and trace elements. As it does not contain pollen, it is suitable for those who suffer from pollen allergies. It is a rare honey as it is only produced every two to five years, depending on the climatic conditions.
Slovak Honeydew fir honey is a top quality monofloral honey which comes predominantly from the Spiš and Bardejov areas.
It is presented as nature intended, with no additives and without being heat treated or processed.
